Until The Light Takes Us
This is a biopic of black metal music from Norway, directed by two Americans who were outsiders to the scene before becoming involved in arson, suicide and murder. We did say it was black. As the genre begins to garner more attention from other musicians, this documentary attempts to shed light on an admittedly dark subject. One lead singer of a metal group, Per Yngve Ohlin blew his brains out, leaving a suicide note that said ‘Sorry for the mess.’ Thankfully, there are other musicians featured with craniums intact.
We are delighted to welcome directors Aaron Aites and Audrey Ewell who will be introducing the film and then will host a short Q&A session.
