The countdown begins to our absolutely amazing FrightFest Glasgow 2010 edition. Frankly we can’t wait to host this one because the line-up is fantastic, the guests are out in force – FROZEN director Adam Green, 2001 MANIACS director Tim Sullivan, AMER co-directors Helene Cattet and Bruno Forzani and producer Francois Cognard, STAG NIGHT director Peter Dowling - the freebies will be massive and the atmosphere is going to be electric. The slightly bad news is that director Vincenzo Natali can no longer be with us to introduce the UK premiere of SPLICE. Since playing at Sundance SPLICE has been picked up for American release by Joel Silver’s Dark Castle Entertainment and Vincenzo now has to oversee its imminent release in that very important territory for him. We’re sorry you won’t be able to meet one of our favourite people, but it’s for the best possible reasons and we wish Vincenzo every success. Trust us, he’ll be back with his next movie. But the very good news is we can announce an additional three more directors to our glittering celebrity roster, each bringing something special to Glasgow for your enjoyment. DOG SOLDIERS and THE DESCENT director Neil Marshall is going to show you an exclusive clip from his new bloody action adventure CENTURION. SEVERANCE and TRIANGLE director Christopher Smith is also heading north of the border with a preview of his wonderful BLACK DEATH. And the third FrightFest favourite is Jake West who will be showing for the first time ever the missing 12 minutes of footage from his unseen preferred Director’s Cut of last year’s hit zombie flick DOGHOUSE. The highlights include the missing original opening prologue, the extended Witch fight sequence and the intended final image. Jake will present the footage and answer any questions regarding the film and how an edit can change the impact of the final product. Don’t be surprised to see other cast and crew from our featured movies popping up from time to time too. It’s going to be gory, it’s going to be gripping and it’s going to be great in that very special Glasgow way. See you there!
